After serving in the local home construction industry for over 30 years, we found that the quality of deck and pergola building in Kansas City is not in great shape – but homeowners expect and deserve more.

Heartland Decks is a family-owned outdoor living company in Kansas City, with industry leading craftsmanship and warranties. Our process starts with hand picked wood, not the low-end lumber you typical get from big box home improvement stores. 

We have exclusive relationships with Kansas City’s top lumber suppliers who supply the best natural wood and composite decking materials in the market.

Our material selection process is meticulous – all materials are hand-picked and with quality visually verified to meet our stubborn quality standards.

We only use the highest quality wood, fasteners, and finishing materials available. This means one thing: Unmatched Quality.

These days, concrete patios have become very popular.  At Heartland Decks, we also build stamped concrete patios as standalone projects, or in addition to our custom deck project.  Many homeowners in Kansas City like the option of being able to step off a covered deck or grilling deck onto a concrete patio with fire pit or fireplace.

Our craftsman are trained and paid for quality, not just completion. We don’t hurry or rush the process like others do ultimately resulting in cutting corners just to “get it done”. Heartland Decks, at one time built lower budget decks, similar to what you might see from a home builder. This was based on price as well as trying to meet the clients budget needs. However, we found that most wanted a better product for their house after it was built, and we as the Deck Builder wanted that as well! We have since moved on from those days, now only providing the best decks in Kansas City.

You will receive a wonderful consultation for your deck or pergola project, ideas and suggestions given to you by our designers, and the final project will be how we all envisioned it before we started. We keep a clean working environment, we try to protect the yard at all costs, and we are professionals from start to finish with the greatest attention to detail and customer service you can find.
